Welcome to Janice Barber who has been appointed as a non-executive director at the Trust.
Non-executive directors are appointed by NHS Improvement for the skills and experience they can bring from ‘outside’ the organisation. The board is led by a non-executive chair.
Janice is a practising solicitor specialising in NHS law with a particular emphasis on regulation, information law and governance, employment law and NHS governance. She has experience in clinical negligence, professional discipline, NHS reorganisations and mergers, judicial reviews and public inquiries. Janice is a Trustee of the National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and Death (NCEPOD) which undertakes in-depth reviews of clinical practice, publishing detailed reports designed to improve patient care.
Janice receives £6,157 for her work at the Trust, and will start her role on April 1 2018.
