Research is one of the most important ways that we can improve the quality and effectiveness of the services we offer our patients.
It is only by using the results of research that current treatments can improve and new tests, treatments and medications can be discovered.
Research is a big priority at West London Mental Health NHS Trust and we have invested in the development of a high quality and comprehensive research programme, including one of the first ever dedicated clinical trials facility for mental health research.
We have research links to a number of organisations, including Imperial College, Bucks New University and Surrey University.
We are also founding partners in the Institute of Mental Health with Bucks New University.
As well as helping to improve care, participation in research can also be a very rewarding and empowering experience for patients and their families.
All participation is entirely voluntary and we always make sure that studies are safe and appropriate for our patients.
