The Local Services clinical service unit covers the full spectrum of community and inpatient mental health care for the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.
With a strong focus on recovery and active involvement for service users and carers, our multi-disciplinary community teams aim to keep people out of hospital so they can continue day to day life and maintain vital social links.
For those patients who are more unwell, our modern inpatient units provide detailed assessment and treatment, whilst planning for the next stage of the care pathway so that service users are supported back into a community setting at the earliest appropriate opportunity.
Assessment and recovery – service redesign
We are currently redesigning the way local services are structured, moving away from services based mainly on geography towards an assessment and recovery model, with cross-borough services improving access to special expertise.
Research for practical benefit
We lead pioneering research into the conditions we treat and new medications developed for them, including specialisms such as first episode psychosis, cognitive impairment, bi-polar disorder and severe personality disorder. We promote a culture of research across our entire workforce, including staff involved in direct clinical care as well as academic professionals.
